Roger Waters may have been done with Pink Floyd after ’s The Final Cut, but David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright were not. The trio continued to write, record and tour. ’s A Momentary Lapse of Reason and ’s The Division Bell were the first two studio results and divided.

Pink Floyd’s A Momentary Lapse of Reason Front Cover as designed by Storm Thorgerson. After Roger Waters left the band in there was a lot of tension between Pink Floyd (Nick Mason & David Gilmour) and Roger.

Nov 23,  · The “updated and remixed” version of ’s A Momentary Lapse of Reason is among the highlights from the 5-CD/6-Blu-ray/5-DVD set, with guitarist David Gilmour and engineer Andy Jackson presenting.

May 17,  · It was obvious at the time that they had to reignite Pink Floyd with or without Waters. So Gilmour, after an agreement with Mason and Wright, got to work on developing new solo material he’d been working and transformed it into the 13th Pink Floyd studio album and their first without Waters, A Momentary Lapse of Reason.

The Later Years is a box set by British rock band Pink Floyd released on 13 December by Pink Floyd Records. It follows the box set The Early Years –, and compiles Pink Floyd's work under the leadership of David Gilmour after the departure of founding member Roger Waters.. The Later Years includes a remixed version of A Momentary Lapse of Reason (), with restored.

The name Pink Floyd could've easily just been slapped on to sell more copies. Considering that David Gilmour's solo album About Face bombed, and A Momentary Lapse of Reason reached #3 on both the US and UK charts, it could be true. Both are watered down and "radio friendly", but with Pink Floyd it becomes a radio friendly unit shifter.
